What is aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga, also called anti-gravity yoga, uses a fabric hammock hung from the ceiling to support part of your body weight. The hammock lets you hold poses longer, move into deeper stretches and go upside down without loading your neck and shoulders.

Classes mix floor work, standing poses in the hammock, gentle swings and supported inversions, and end with a cocooned relaxation inside the silk.

Why people love it

Relief for desk-job backs

Hanging inversions gently lengthen the spine and release the lower back after long hours at a laptop.

Strength without strain

Pulling, holding and lifting in the silk builds core, arm and grip strength.

Deeper flexibility

Supported stretches open hips, hamstrings and shoulders further than on the mat.

Confidence upside down

Learn inversions step by step with the hammock as your safety net.

A real mood lift

It feels like play. Most people leave smiling and lighter.

Inversions

Turn your world upside down.

Learn to go upside down safely, one supported step at a time.

Your first class, step by step

  1. Arrive 10 minutes early. We set your hammock to the right height and walk you through safety.
  2. Warm up on the mat. Gentle joint mobility and breathwork.
  3. Learn the basics in the silk. Supported stretches, seated poses and a first easy inversion if you feel ready.
  4. Relax in the cocoon. Finish wrapped in the hammock for a few minutes of deep rest.

Is it right for me?

TO ADD: Add any weight limit and who should avoid aerial yoga (for example pregnancy, glaucoma, recent surgery).

Aerial yoga questions

No. Our aerial classes start from the basics and your instructor will guide every step. Many members try aerial as their very first yoga class.

Yes. Aerial hammocks are rigged to professional standards and are designed to hold far more than body weight. Your instructor checks every setup before class.

Inversions are always optional. You can stay the right way up until you feel ready, and the silk supports you all the way.

Two to three classes a week gives the best results for strength and flexibility. Even once a week makes a difference.
